You are doing the right thing by meeting with a lender first so you know whether you qualify and how much you qualify for and then you can go out and start your search in earnest..Getting pre-qualified doesn't cost anything.. The charges will come in when you apply for the?actual mortgage.?From my experience, a direct lender is a abetter choice than a big bank such as Chase, Wells Fargo or Bank of America..
