3 Important Elements of Non Profit Sites

Branding

Branding is an important aspect of any business and just because your non profit is not a for profit business does not mean it should not have great branding. A great brand will help people understand who you are, what you are about and remember you forever. Almost all successful major non profit organizations have a solid brand identity. This include elements such as a logo design, website design, print materials, colors, design style and so on. Basically everything that times your non profit a distinct image.

Your organization?s branding should be very consistent and understood by any employees who will be working with it such as graphic and web designers. When creating your website it is important to have your logo on every page in a prominent location. The best location often being the top left of the site where most users eyes go first.

Mission Statement

One of the very first things any non profit should do is develop a solid mission statement.

Once you have this mission statement it should be put on your website right away. Many non profits create a page specifically for this or add it to an about page along with other important information about the organization.

You could think of having a short version and long version on your site, but the key is having it so people can get a quick idea of what your non profit is about, who it helps, where and how.

Call for Actions

Usually the point of a site is to make people aware of your cause and then get them to help your organization so you can help others. If you do not ask visitors to do anything or direct them at all they will leave without making a donation or, subscribing to anything.

You need to have clear call to actions all over the site.

This includes links in the content going to pages such as the donate page or volunteer page. You can also have a donate button in the sidebar of every page, links in your navigation and so on. The key is to clearly show where and how visitors can help your non profit organization.

Many non profit websites will create a page called ? Act Now ?, which lists everything you can do to help the non profit such as donate, volunteer, spread the word and so on. All these elements will hlep ensure you maximize your Non Profit Marketing Plan 100 percent.
