The Humane Society for Greater Savannah held an after Christmas and book sale Saturday.
They were clearing out the shelves at the Pick of the Litter Thrift Shop gearing up for a brand new year. Organizers were thrilled with the turnout Saturday saying more than one hundred people were ready to check out all the goods before the sale even began. They say it's incredible to see so much support from the community.
"Oh, this is my passion in life, the Humane Society. I've been associated with this shelter for 20 years. We used to do yard sales twice a year and then when we renovated this building, we found out we had a whole floor upstairs and we started the thrift shop and it makes about a third of the budget for the entire shelter," says Arlene Nash.
The Pick of the Litter Thrift Shop is open Monday through Friday from ten to five and Saturday from ten to four.
