Cesar Sanchez, Escaped Inmate, Found By Police In Illinois Port-A-Potty (VIDEO)

An inmate who jumped from a moving van while being taken back to prison Friday afternoon was found by police six hours after making his bold escape -- in an Illinois port-a-potty.

Cesar Sanchez, 37, was on his way to the Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill, Ill. following a court appearance when he somehow jumped from the prisoner transport van in southwest suburban Lockport, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Illinois Department of Corrections spokeswoman Sharyn Elman told the Chicago Tribune that authorities were investigating whether Sanchez, who was handcuffed and in a prison jumpsuit, kicked open the van door before jumping out.

After making his escape, Sanchez reportedly hitched a ride on a delivery truck to Rockdale, near Joliet, NBC Chicago reports. He was ultimately tracked to Waste Management facility in the area which contained several hundred portable toilets.

"As you can imagine, looking through 300 port-a-potties was going to be quite a job," Will County Sheriff Paul Kaupas told NBC Chicago.

Police did not have to open every door, however. Authorities used "infrared, heat-sensing technology attached to a helicopter" and dogs to narrow the search, the Sun-Times reports. They found the inmate inside one of the portable toilets about 8:15 p.m.

?He was in the doo-doo,? Kaupas told CBS Chicago.

Sanchez is serving a 7-year-sentence for burglary. His previous convictions include shoplifting, robbery, aggravated battery, motor vehicle theft and unlawful use of a credit card

Last play FG gives Packers 38-35 win over Giants

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) ? The Green Bay Packers are still perfect and heading to the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers engineered a last minute drive to set up a 30-yard field goal by Mason Crosby on the final play and the Green Bay Packers remained undefeated and clinched a playoff berth with a 38-35 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday.

Rodgers hit three passes of more than 18 yards on the drive in the final 58 seconds as the Super Bowl champion Packers (12-0) won their 18th straight game and handed the Giants (6-6) their fourth straight loss.

New York, which was blown out by New Orleans Monday night, tied the game on a 2-yard Eli Manning touchdown pass and a 2-point conversion run by D.J. Ware with just under a minute to play.

However, Rodgers, who threw four touchdown passes, wasn't going to settle for overtime after a touchback on the ensuing kickoff.

On first down, he completed a pass to Jermichael Finley just over the outstretched hands of rookie linebacker Jacquian Williams and the tight end rumbled 24 yards up the right sideline to the 44.

A 24-yard pass to Jordy Nelson down the left sideline moved the ball to the New York 29 and an 18-yard pass to Greg Jennings two plays later moved the ball to the 12.

Green Bay called time out with 3 seconds to go, and then Crosby delivered his winning kick.

The Packers would clinch the NFC North if Detroit lost to New Orleans on Sunday night.

For the Giants, everything wasn't terrible. Dallas also lost, leaving New York a game behind the Cowboys with four games to go. The two teams will play twice over that span.

Rodgers, who was harassed by Giants front and sacked three times, finished 28 of 46 for 369 yards. He threw touchdown passes of 7 and 13 yards to Donald Driver, 20 to Jennings and 12 to Finley.

Linebacker Clay Matthews also returned an interception 38 yards for a score in the second quarter.

Manning finished 23 of 40 for 347 yards. He had a 67-yard touchdown pass to Travis Beckum and touchdown tosses of 4 and 2 yards to Nicks. Brandon Jacobs scored on a 1-yard run after a rare interception of Rodgers and Lawrence Tynes kicked two field goals with a 50-yard in the fourth quarter getting New York within 28-27.

Rodgers hooked up with Driver on a 7-yard TD with 3:34 to go to push the lead to 35-27.

However, Manning hit tight end Jake Ballard on two 15 yard passes and connected with Victor Cruz for 22 yards to set up the game-tying score that New York thought would send the game to OT.

Rodgers had other ideas, though, and the Packers continued their run at trying to match Miami's perfect season in 1972.

It's not surprising New York gave them a game. The Giants ended the Denver Broncos perfect season at 11 games in 1998 and they knocked off the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl in February 2008 when Tom Brady and company were a game from perfection.

The Giants let the Packers know early they were going to be in a for a battle this week.

Manning and Beckum, who had one catch all season, combined on a 67-yard catch and weaving run for a touchdown on the third play of the game.

Rodgers tied the game with a 12-yard TD pass to Finley on Green Bay's second possession, only to see New York take the lead on a 38-yard field goal by Tynes.

New York seemed to be in control until Manning made a mistake on a play action pass on the first play of the second quarter. With his primary receiver covered, Manning threw a sideline pass to Ahmad Bradshaw in front of the Packers bench and Matthews jumped the route and returned it 38 yards for a touchdown and a 14-10 lead.

Rodgers had only been intercepted four times all season but linebacker Chase Blackburn, who was signed on Wednesday, picked him off at the Green Bay 21 and returned the ball to the 12. Two plays later, Brandon Jacobs plowed in from the 1 to give New York a 17-14 edge.

Rodgers atoned for the error on the next series, driving the Packers 80 yards in 11 plays with the biggest play being an 11-yard scramble on a third-and-10 from New York 43. Rodgers capped the march with a 13-yard, third-down touchdown pass to a wide-open Donald Driver on a play in which the Giants secondary blew the coverage.

Rodgers pushed the lead to 28-17 on the opening series of the second half with his fist TD pass to Driver but Manning got New York back in the game later in the quarter with his first TD to Nicks.

Wall Street pauses for a breath after the surge

Wall Street stocks were mixed?lower Thursday, a day after the Dow Jones Industrial Average had its biggest gain in more than two years.

Stocks were under pressure after the government reported that jobless claims leapt for the second week in a row, raising worries about tomorrow's crucial monthly employment report.

The data cut into some of the euphoria induced Wednesday after?major central banks?cut borrowing costs to inject money into the global financial system.?Investors are once again seeking signs that European leaders can find a solution to the debt crisis there.

Markets jumped Wednesday when the central banks of Europe, the U.S., Britain, Canada, Japan and Switzerland made it cheaper for banks to borrow dollars, helping them to operate smoothly at a time of tight credit.

The central banks' move sent the Dow soaring 490 points, or 4.2 percent, the largest gain since March 2009 and the seventh-largest of all time. The Standard & Poor's 500 closed up 4.3 percent.

China's central bank also acted to release money for lending and shore up growth by lowering bank reserve levels for the first time in three years.

Worries about Europe's financial system and the European Central Bank's reluctance to intervene heavily in bond markets have seen borrowing rates rise for European countries in recent weeks. That raised fears of a global credit crunch of the type that plunged the global economy into recession in 2009.

As a result of the central banks' action, commercial banks in the EU and four other countries will now be able pay less to borrow dollars, the currency of international trade.

But analysts said that the decision might only have a short-term effect and does nothing to solve the underlying problem of an enormous government debt in Europe. Investors say the real boost to the markets might come only if European leaders announce a dramatic action at the summit on debt crisis next week.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

End of the line for Cain? Announcement Saturday (AP)

ATLANTA ? Rapidly becoming a mere footnote in the presidential race, Herman Cain sent mixed signals Friday on whether he would abandon his beleaguered White House bid on Saturday after a woman's allegation of an extramarital affair.

He said he would make a "major announcement" on whether he would press on ? at an event still being billed as the grand opening of a new headquarters.

It is the latest ? and perhaps final ? twist in a campaign saga that has taken the Georgia businessman from unknown longshot to surprise frontrunner to embattled tabloid subject.

He arrived at his suburban Atlanta home on Friday afternoon to talk with his wife of 42 years, Gloria, about whether to press on after his campaign was rocked by multiple sexual harassment allegations and this week's claim that he had a 13-year affair. He denies wrongdoing. It was their first face-to-face meeting since the allegation was made public.

As night fell, campaign aides who were optimistic earlier Friday that Cain would press on said privately they expected that he would exit the race.

Earlier, in a speech in Rock Hill, S.C., Cain wouldn't disclose whether he would drop out but told supporters to stay tuned. He said he would clarify the next steps of the campaign and assured backers the affair claim was "garbage." But he also said he needed to consider what he would do with campaign donations already banked if he dropped out of the race.

"Nobody's going to make me make that prematurely," Cain told a crowd of about 100 people. "That's all there is to it."

"My wife and family comes first. I've got to take that into consideration," Cain added. "I don't doubt the support that I have. Just look at the people who are here."

Cain had not seen his wife since Ginger White, 46, came forward and said she had a sexual affair with Cain that lasted more than a decade. He has said they were only friends but acknowledged that he helped pay her monthly bills and expenses. His wife, Cain said, did not know of the friendship with White.

The former Godfather's pizza executive said he is reassessing whether his presidential bid is still viable.

But it was difficult to imagine a path forward with just a month until the lead-off Iowa caucuses.

Polls suggest his popularity has taken a deep hit.

A Des Moines Register poll released Friday showed Cain's support plummeting, with backing from 8 percent of Republican caucusgoers in Iowa, down from 23 percent a month ago.

Fundraising has also fallen off. He issued an email appeal to supporters on Friday asking for donations, in an attempt to gauge whether his financial support has dried up.

"I need to know that you are behind me 100 percent," Cain told backers. "In today's political environment, the only way we can gauge true support is by the willingness of our supporters to invest in this effort.

A political novice, Cain leveraged strong tea party support to hurtle to the front of the Republican pack in October casting himself as an anti-establishment outsider. His catchy 9-9-9 tax overhaul proposal helped his rise. But his effort soon lost altitude.

He fumbled policy questions, and his campaign has been reeling since it was revealed a little more than a month ago that the National Restaurant Association paid settlements to two women who claimed Cain sexually harassed them while he was president of the organization. A third woman told The Associated Press that Cain made inappropriate sexual advances but that she didn't file a complaint. A fourth woman also stepped forward to accuse Cain of groping her in a car in 1997.

Cain has denied wrongdoing in all cases. And his campaign was taking some steps to blunt the drumbeat of allegations.

It unveiled a "Women for Herman Cain" webpage with testimonials from female backers, some urging him to stay in the race. It was led by Gloria Cain.

The candidate's wife ? who's not been on the campaign trail ? has drawn her own support as the allegations against her husband have piled up.

A Facebook page "I Stand With Gloria Cain" had attracted more than 400 supporters by Friday afternoon.

On Friday, Cain urged backers in South Carolina to look past the allegations.

"There's a lot of garbage on the Internet. There's a lot of garbage out there on the TV. There's a lot of garbage out there about me, don't you know? There's a lot of misinformation out there. You have to stay informed and check out the facts for yourself," Cain said.

He added: "I'm on this journey for a reason. I don't look back."

Word of a pending announcement took some aides by surprise.

"I am learning this as you're learning it," said Cain's Iowa campaign chairman, Steve Grubbs, who met Thursday with campaign manager Mark Block.

The two outlined a December travel schedule for Cain, who began advertising on television again in Iowa on Friday.

As of Friday afternoon, Cain was scheduled to participate in the two Iowa debates this month, hold a media announcement in Iowa on Dec. 12 and tour the state at the end of the month.

"That's sort of the plan, very tentatively," Grubbs said. "All that could change."

Georgia supporters set to attend the Saturday event in Atlanta ? billed as a headquarters celebration ? were taken aback by the news that an announcement was coming.

"I have heard nothing," said state Sen. Josh McKoon, a prominent Cain backer who will stand with him Saturday.

Honda announces global recall for air-bag problems (AP)

TOKYO ? Honda Motor Co. is recalling 304,000 vehicles globally for air-bags that may inflate with too much pressure in a crash, send metal and plastic pieces flying and cause injuries or deaths.

Honda said there have been 20 accidents so far related to this problem, including two deaths in the U.S. in 2009.

The Japanese automaker announced the recall Friday, which affects the Accord, Civic, Odyssey, Pilot, CR-V and other models.

The recall spans 273,000 vehicles in the U.S., some 27,000 in Canada, nearly 2,000 vehicles in Japan and another 2,000 in other countries.

The latest recall is an expansion of recalls for the same problem in 2008, and again carried out in 2009, as well as last year. The recall now covers about 2 million vehicles worldwide, according to Tokyo-based Honda.

Honda spokesman Hajime Kaneko said the cause was the use of incorrect material in the chemical used to deploy air bags.

But that problem was found later to affect more vehicles than initially estimated, and the recall had to be expanded, he said. Honda is expecting no more recalls linked to this problem, he said.

Also included in the latest recall are 912 air-bag service parts sold for installation in vehicles for collision repair and other reasons, Honda said.

New BlackBerry Mobile Fusion also Manages Android, iOS Devices (NewsFactor)

If you can't beat them, secure them. That seems to be the philosophy behind Research In Motion's latest market move. RIM just launched BlackBerry Mobile Fusion, an enterprise mobility solution that marks its entrance into the multi-platform mobile-device management space.

BlackBerry Mobile Fusion plays on RIM's strength: enterprise security. The company is using what it has learned over the past decade to manage smartphones and tablets running not only BlackBerry, but also Google Android and Apple iOS operating systems. RIM's aim so to win the business of companies and government agencies looking to manage the various mobile device workers tote.

Alan Panezic, vice president, Enterprise Product Management and Marketing at RIM, said the new solution offers the "necessary management capabilities to allow IT departments to confidently oversee the use of both company-owned and employee-owned mobile devices within their organizations."

Managing Worker Mobility

RIM's smartphone sales may be suffering in the face of competition from Apple and Android, but it is nevertheless the undisputed leader in enterprise mobility solutions. More than 90 percent of Fortune 500 companies provision BlackBerry devices.

With its BlackBerry Mobile Fusion, however, RIM is tapping into a felt need of today's enterprise. Not only is the smartphone and tablet market continuing to grow, IT admins have to manage both company-provisioned and employee-owned devices.

It's well documented how employee-owned devices have introduced new challenges for CIOs and IT departments as they work to manage and control wireless access to confidential company information on the corporate network.

In competition with companies like Mobile Iron, Sybase and Symantec, BlackBerry Mobile Fusion will offer asset and configuration management, security and policy definition and management, application and software management and connectivity management. RIM said the new offering also secures and protects lost or stolen devices, features user- and group-based administration, high scalability and a centralized console.

RIM's New Beginning?

RIM announced its plans for a multi-platform BlackBerry Enterprise Solution in May. The technology is based on assets RIM acquired when it purchased Ubitexx. Certain features are expected to remain exclusive, including RIM's push technology, network and data usage efficiency, and behind-the-firewall access to enterprise applications and systems.

"RIM knows it is losing market share as well as an opportunity to sell the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, which is the gold standard for mobile-device management. Name something it doesn't do," said Michael Disabato, managing vice president of Network and Telecom at Gartner. "Now, RIM has the mechanics in place to manage iOS and Android devices. RIM is going to be a competitor as soon as they get past version one."

Although RIM is late to market, Disabato said the solution nevertheless could be attractive to companies that need a mobile-device management solution and prefer to expand an existing relationship rather than add and maintain another layer of infrastructure. Disabato sees it as a potential win for RIM, but the success is in the execution of the details.
