Comedy Central has signed a new deal with the New York Comedy Festival for an additional three years.A handful of performers at the fest will have their standup routines telecast on the cabler, as well as via online streaming. This year's eight annual fest takes place Nov. 9-13 in various Gotham locations.Previous comedians who have performed include Ricky Gervais, Louie C.K., Dane Cook and Sarah Silverman. In 2007, the fest launched the "Stand Up for Heroes" event to benefit the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which has featured performances by Jon Stewart, Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams, Conan O'Brien and Bruce Springsteen.This year's lineup is expected to be announced in August."The relationship with the New York Comedy Festival for the past few years has been hugely successful," said Mitch Fried, senior VP of live entertainment at Comedy Central. "This strategic alliance affords both New York City-based companies the ability to showcase incredibly talented performers through a multitude of media opportunities."
